From our beginnings in a small practice on Hay Avenue in 1999 to our current home on Jacaranda Road, we have spent more than 25 years caring for generations of families in Caringbah and the surrounding suburbs of the Cronulla Sutherland Shire.
Our Story
1994 — Graduating from the University of Sydney
Dr Glen Baker and Dr Danneil Wood both graduated from the University of Sydney in 1994.
Glen graduated with First Class Honours and the University Medal, while Danneil graduated with First Class Honours.
1999 — Beginning our journey in Caringbah
In 1999, we began practising in Caringbah from a small dental practice in Hay Avenue.
It was a modest beginning, but it marked the start of what has become a long-standing connection with the local community.
Over the following years, we built relationships with patients and their families and developed a practice based on the principles that remain important to us today.
2008 — A new home. A new name
In 2008, we moved to our current premises in Jacaranda Road, Caringbah. The move represented an important new chapter, and with our new location came a new name: Jacaranda Dental.
Moving into a larger and more modern practice allowed us to expand the services we could provide while retaining the personal approach that had been established during our years in Hay Avenue.

After having some major dental work myself in the past, my own dentist was kind, compassionate and made me feel comfortable through my dental journey. What makes me smile – I’ve been a dental nurse for over 20 years and worked at Jacaranda Dental since 2008… I love my job as I like to help people. Out of work hours I like living an active lifestyle, spending my time exercising, enjoying time with friends and experiencing the good things life has to give. I’m a proud mum to a treasured son and cheeky puppies. I like working in the dental field as health is very important and a smile goes a long way!

Dental implants have also become an important part of our clinical practice.
Dr Glen Baker has more than 20 years of experience in implant dentistry and has placed and restored many hundreds of dental implants. Implant treatment ranges from replacing a single missing tooth through to more complex treatment involving multiple implants, implant-supported dentures and full-arch rehabilitation.
We use modern diagnostic and digital technologies, including 3D imaging and digital scanning, to assist with planning implant treatment where appropriate.
Our approach is to assess each patient individually and explain whether an implant, bridge, denture or another option is most appropriate for their circumstances.
